Athletes Village Planning Underway

Planning is progressing for the transformation of the Brisbane Showgrounds into a key component of the Athletes Village for the upcoming 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The site is being carefully assessed for its potential to host athletes and officials while delivering lasting urban renewal benefits to the surrounding community. The village design aims to integrate sustainable housing, transport connectivity, and green public spaces, with a strong focus on community legacy and long-term livability.

Early stakeholder engagement has commenced, including preliminary consultation with Traditional Owners and local residents. Feedback will help shape the development vision and ensure cultural values, heritage considerations, and local priorities are reflected in the masterplan.
